A four-day theatre festival 'Rangashraavana Rangothsava' organised by Pada theatre group in association with the department of Kannada and Culture began on Monday. The highlight of the fest are one-man shows by theatre artistes.

'Kone Ankha' directed by Yogesh Master was performed by theatre artiste Kaggere Manju. Yogesh Master, who also wrote the story, said the play is based on real-life incidents. It showcases the transformation of a theatreperson due to many circumstances and influences during childhood.

On Tuesday, 'Swamiya Swagatha' will be screened followed by 'Saayuvane Chiranjeevi' on Wednesday and Urmila  on Thursday. Besides Kaggere Manju, the other solo artistes performing are Krishnamuthy Kavithar, Srinivas Prabhu and Mangala N.

"The response has been encouraging. We expect more crowds in the coming days. Solo shows were once a rage but are now waning in Bengaluru. Through this programme, we want to revive those days," said secretary of Pada, Devaraj D.

Rangashravana Rangothsava is being held at Ravindra Kalakshetra, JC Road, and the play starts from 6 pm on all the days.
