The North division police claimed to have arrested four persons and recovered jewellery and other valuables worth Rs 5.75 lakh.
The suspects were identified as Putta alias Dinesh, a resident of Sunkadakatte, Gopi of Thotadaguddadahalli, Girish of Kamakshipalya and Balraj alias Kumar of Kamakshipalya.
The police said the four would target lone women and elderly persons for snatching chains. On a tip-off, the police arrested them when they were about to attack a woman at Mahalakshmi Layout market, the police said.
