5 held for rowdy's murder

Police have arrested five people in connection with a rowdy’s murder in Subramanyapura on Sunday.

The arrested are Jayanth (29), from Gabbadi village in Kanakapura taluk; Mahadeva (24), from Girigowdanadoddi in Uttarahalli hobli; Kaushik (20) of Paruvaianapalya in Kanakapura taluk; Vinay (22), Hedamaranahalli in Kanakapura taluk, and Rakesh (21), from Bheereshwarnagar.
The suspects hired a vehicle to escape to Mysuru after murdering Ganesh (32), a realtor and cable operator from Harinagar.

The police received information on their movement and intercepted the vehicle they were travelling at the toll collection centre on NICE Road near PES College. The police detained the suspects for interrogation and they confessed to the crime.

The prime suspect Jayanth wanted to start a recreation club in Harinagar. However, Ganesh had blocked Jayanth’s efforts and had assisted others to start the club. Jayanth landed in deep financial crisis as he failed to start the club.

Jayanth plotted Ganesh’s murder to settle scores with him. Jayanth and Ganesh attempted to murder each other a few months ago and Ganesh’s accomplice Ramu was injured in the attack.

Jayanth thought that he could start a club only if Ganesh was murdered. He connived with the other suspects and attacked Ganesh near Vinayaka theatre when the latter was heading to a supermarket.
