A five-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped by a gang in a car, while he was playing near his house at Siddharth Nagar in Peenya II stage on Monday.
The boy has been identified as Sagar, son of Basappa, who is a native of Kalaburagi, living with his wife and two children at a rented house in Siddharth Nagar.
The ragpicker couple used to leave home early and return in the evening. The children used to play near the house till the parents came home. On Monday evening, when they returned, their son Sagar was missing. They searched everywhere, but did not find him.
Later, they checked the CCTV footage from the surrounding areas. One of the cameras at a factory nearby had recorded a gang kidnapping Sagar in a car. Basappa later filed a complaint. Police are trying to track down the kidnappers.
