Parents of around 50 students of the St Francis Xavier Girls’ High School in Frazer Town have alleged that the school had suspended their wards for a week for just talking during the school's prayers.

While the incident took place on January 28, parents said that they visited the school the very next day but the management refused to speak to them. Sister Malar Joseph, principal of the school denied the allegations and said that she had asked the students who were talking during the prayers, not to come to school for a week. She further said that the parents were unnecessary creating a controversy.
