A panel discussion on ‘why India is not winning more medals at the Olympics and what we need to do to get there’ was recently conducted by the Rotary Club of Bangalore.

The panelists on the occasion were former athlete Ashwini Nachappa, former director NIS and Decathlon champion Dr CM Muthaiah, director of Swimlife Mr Satish Kumar and sports medicine specialist Dr Thomas Chandy.

The discussion was anchored by Suri Menon and the experts highlighted the need for change in the system and the need for support of children with talent.
They also spoke about incentives for children who pursue sports and the need to recognise sports as a career opportunity.
