The Tiki culture is widely adapted around the world, thanks to their wooden carved wall-hangings, cups and more.

Bengaluru has also given a chance to witness this phenomenon at its newest restaurant in Indiranagar, ‘Three Dots and a Dash’.

Inspired by the legendary ‘Don the Beach Comber’ who introduced the first Tiki bar in California, this restaurant attempts to transport one to the tropical lands with their refreshing cocktails and dishes, Polynesian style. The name of the restaurant is Morse code for the letter ‘V’, in short of ‘Victory’.

The story goes that he created a drink as a tribute to the American soldiers who fought World War II .

Placed on the first and second floor, it serves an array of signature drinks with tropical flavours in mugs designed as Tiki gods.

Though it’s not a high-end roof top that one would hope for, the ambience definitely gives a calming experience of watching the Metro trains or the traffic on the busy 100 Feet Road pass by.

The drinks are interestingly dressed in glass-shaped Hawaiian god’s heads. They have unique drinks like ‘Ku’, a pineapple-peach schnapps mixed with coconut flavoured water and various other rum-based cocktails. They also have a treasure box that serves five litres of cocktail in it. Designed with mystical dry ice and bowls of fruits to go with it, it definitely is an eye-catching party trick. The food, however, isn’t really an inspiration of anything. They have Indianised flavours that pair well with the drinks, but nothing great to boast about.

As it’s been only a couple of weeks since they launched, they are yet to finalise on the final menu. But for a place that claims to be known for its drinking, the quantity served does not suffice.

The restaurant is located on 840/1, 100 feet road, Indiranagar. For reservations, call 9900813333.
