Action-packed marathons in Bengaluru today

The city will witness two marathon running events on Sunday, making for an action-packed weekend. The run will be flagged at 5.30 am from St Joseph's High School grounds on Vittal Mallya Road. The Pride Run under 10 km, 5 km and 2 km will be flagged off by Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara and is likely to see more than 1,000 runners.

Similarly, IT major Wipro has organised a marathon under the banner ‘Spirit of Wipro’ on the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway (NICE Road) at 5.30 am. Hundreds of Wiproites and their families, friends and the public will take part in the event. The run, in its 14th year, will have a theme ‘We before Me’.

Elsewhere, Saibisa has organised a walkathon supporting the education and upliftment of girl survivors of rape. The walkathon under the banner ‘Strides for Survivors’ will start at 7 am and go on till 10 am from Kantheerava Stadium through Cubbon Park.
