With 15th edition of Aero India scheduled to begin in the second week of February (10-14) at the Yelahanka Air Force Station, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has announced restrictions on the sale of meat and non-veg food in select regions of Bengaluru North.

To be specific, the restrictions will be imposed on a 13 km range surrounding Yelahanka Air Force Station from January 23 till February 17.

This measure has been taken as safety precaution to avoid bird hits during the aeroplane practice sessions.

Birds of prey, particularly eagles, which feed on leftover food and meat waste, will be kept off the skies during the air show.

India's Suryakiran fighter jet team and Saarang helicopter aerobatics teams are participating in the Aero India 2025 event.

"Any violation of this will attract punishment under BBMP Act 2020 and Indian Aircraft rules 1937 rule 91," reads the BBMP notification.

Bengaluru, India’s silicon city has been hosting Asia’s biggest air show since its inception in 1996.

Indian Air Force's Tejas jets, Sukhoi and other military aircraft will also be performing aerobatics in the sky at Yelahanka.
