The awards are given for three persons every year in recognition of outstanding contribution in the field of child development, protection and welfare.
The award comprises a purse of Rs one lakh for each individual and a citation. The committee constituted by the State Government will recommend the names to the Union Government.
The prescribed application forms for the year 2010 can be obtained from the Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Department in the respective districts. The filled-in applications should be sent on or before May 10.
