The Minister was addressing mediapersons after inaugurating a tailoring centre and launching various development works at Banashankari Second Stage in Padmanabhanagar ward on Wednesday.

The Minister said delimitation has been completed and after June 30 the reservation of wards will be carried out for which objection will be called. Along with it, final notification of the draft delimitation has to be brought out.

When asked whether the elections can be held in time, Ashok gave an elusive reply saying, “We are doing the job as per the rules and regulations. Earlier 30 days’ time was given for submitting objection and we reduced it to 15 days. That’s all I can say as of now.”

Earlier, the Minister claimed that this was the most accessible government that ever came to power in Karnataka. People could meet the ministers on the streets and inform them about the problems faced by them in their area and the government too responded quickly to their problem. The government is sensitive to the problems faced by the citizens and is offering every aid to them for their uplift, he said.

He reiterated Chief Minister Yeddyurappa’s words that Bangalore would be made a model city in the country in the next three-four years.

He inaugurated the tailoring centre and Help Centre and distributed spectacles to 25 people, a relief of Rs 2,000 to the families from weaker section whose houses were damaged in the recent rains.

He also distributed the old age and widow pension cards to the beneficiaries. He handed over cheque of Rs 25,500 to one Shivaraj whose both kidneys have failed and a cheque of Rs 5,000 to a person to buy a pulling cart for his livelihood.

Another beneficiary was a student Lakshmi who got Rs 1,000 for her studies.
