Three men who allegedly stabbed a bartender after he asked them to keep their legs off a table have been arrested for attempted murder. The incident occurred around 11.45 pm on Sunday, a senior officer said.

Irshad, 23, Shamshuddin, 28 and Salman — all daily wage workers — were arrested by the Upparpet police following a complaint by Mohan Shetty, who works in a bar at KG Circle, Gandhinagar.

The men consumed alcohol at the bar and kept their legs on the table. When Shetty asked them to sit properly, they picked a fight with him but were soon sent out of the bar. The trio, however, kept waiting outside the bar. As soon as Shetty came out after the bar closed, they pounced on him and stabbed him multiple times before running away, the officer added. Shetty was later rushed to a hospital. Police arrested the suspects in the early hours of Monday. A magistrate has remanded them in judicial custody.
