The City police will rope in anti-naxal network of Andhra Pradesh police to intensify their hunt for the man who attacked a woman at a ATM kiosk, recently.
The AP police reportedly achieved success in many cases with the help of the network. “The police have decided to use the anti-naxal network to trace the suspect and it is a matter of time before we arrest him,” Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Hemanth Nimbalkar said.
“We have credible information with us. The challenge is that information is coming in a bit late. The suspected man is spotted in different locations. He is hiding somewhere in Anantapur district of AP,” Nimbalkar told Deccan Herald.
He said the City police had not returned from Andhra Pradesh. “Our force is very much present there and is working in tandem with the AP police. A joint commissioner and two DCPs are monitoring the operation,” he added. Around 60 policemen from the State have been exclusively deputed to AP, he said.
“Me returning to Bangalore is not a setback for us. We are in constant touch with the AP’s top cops,” he added. Nimbalkar said it has been confirmed that the man who murdered a woman in Anantapur and the one who attacked Jyothi Uday in the City, were one and the same.
