As many as 20 corporate teams took part in the 15th edition of ‘Reboot’, the one-day cultural fest organised by Ventures group, at a resort in the City.

The day kicked off with ‘De Bug’, the dumb charades event, in which eight teams participated. At the end of the final round, one of the teams from CGI walked home as the winners.

The next round was ‘Voice Link’ or antakshari. The event, which had the maximum number of participating teams, was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

After the three preliminary rounds, six teams were shortlisted. With two members
in every team, the event gave a chance for participants and audience to exhibit their singing skills. In each preliminary round, the participants were given different
challenges. At the end, the team from BIAL won the first place.
This was soon followed by ‘Nutscape Communicator’,

a ‘Mad Ads’ event. The team from MU-SIGMA was the winner of this event, which saw a total of eight teams participating.

Explaining how ‘Reboot’ took shape, David Ramesh, the organiser, said, “Though IT corporate employees have the passion to take part in
cultural events, they don’t get a chance.

The idea was to create a platform for them to have fun and be a part of these activities. It’s very inspiring to know that the participants put in so much effort to give it their best.”
David added that in order to maintain the quality of the events, only a limited number of teams was allowed to take part in the fest.

There was a round to test the participants’ general knowledge as well. Many teams took part in ‘Intellect Explorer’, the quiz round. After a written preliminary test round, six teams were chosen for the final round.

The team from Nexus Consulting, which managed to score the highest points, was the winner of this round. ‘Floppy Disco’, a group dance event, was the most anticipated show of the day. The team from SAP Labs emerged as the winners of this.

A large number of people had gathered for the performance by ‘Rubber Band’. The band from IGate firm enthralled the audience with hit tracks from Bollywood movies and some popular Kannada and Tamil songs.

Rachana, a member of the audience, said, “I have been a part of ‘Reboot’ for the last four years. With every year, the event is getting bigger and better. There is high level of energy and the competitive spirit among participants is worth taking note of.

It took us all back to our college days when we used to enjoy singing and dancing so much. For a day, we were away from the corporate world and it was absolutely fun.”
