Reddy quit a lucrative job in Wipro to pursue his education in environment management. And today, he is delighted that his name has been short-listed to address the conference on December 14.

Reddy spoke to Deccan Herald on his preparation and interests: “Each speaker will get just 2 minutes and 30 seconds. I will be dwelling on India’s quandary about the need for striving for economic growth while minimising its effect on environment.”

When Reddy was a 9th standard student in Frank Anthony’s Public School, he received an All India Talent Scholarship Award. As he completed his engineering from PESIT and joined Wipro, he became an environmental activist. The climate change debate persuaded him to quit Wipro and join the University of Edinburgh to do a master’s course in carbon management last year.

“Neighbours and relatives used to be irritated when Pranam used to bug them to turn off lights when not needed, shut the engine at signal lights, and so on. Today, we wish we were at Copenhagen to see him speaking on climate change,” says Reddy’s proud mother, Asha.
