Immigration officials at the Kempegowda International Airport arrested a Bangladeshi national while he was trying to board a flight to the UAE using an Indian passport on Thursday night. The accused Sujan Kumar Das (28) told officials that he had come to India by crossing the porous Bilonia border in Tripura in 2003 and stayed for a few years, working as a construction labourer.

During his stay, he obtained the Aadhaar and PAN cards with the help of an agent, with which he got a passport issued from the Regional Passport Office, Kolkota, in July 2017, he told officials.

The accused, with help from a friend, got a working visa in the UAE and came to Bengaluru to board the flight, the officials said.
