A day after the HDFC Life manager Vishalakshi Bhat, accused of cheating scores of people of over Rs 40 crore, was remanded in police custody, the police have begun the interrogation.
B S Lokesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) said that Bhat was yet to speak and breaks down whenever police question her. She is yet to reveal what she did with the money, police added.
Vishalakshi, who was manager of HDFC Life’s BTM Layout branch in the City, was arrested in Etawah in Uttar Pradesh on the charge of cheating people to the tune of Rs 40 crore.
