Police Commissioner Raghavendra H Auradkar has permitted bars and restaurants in the City to remain open till 1 am on January 1, in view of the New Year celebrations.
However, the bars should obtain necessary permission from the State Excise department to be open from the midnight of December 31, to 1 am on January 1, said a press release.
All the establishments should take necessary precautionary measures to ensure that no nuisance or disturbance is caused to the neighbours by playing loud music or creating a ruckus during the New Year celebrations, the commissioner said.
