The directive, issued on Friday by the BBMP’s Joint Director of Town Planning (North) Wing, aims to ensure the smooth execution of the biennial air show and aviation exhibition.

The 15th edition of Asia's largest air show is scheduled to take place from February 10 to 14. To facilitate preparatory activities, the ban on crane usage will come into effect from February 1.

Builders have been instructed to remove cranes and halt construction activities within the specified area. Violators of the order will face action under the BBMP Act 2020 and Section 91 of the Aircraft Rules, 1937.

The restrictions are part of safety measures to avoid potential hazards during the high-profile event, which attracts global attention to Bengaluru's aerospace capabilities.
