The BBMP, on Tuesday, ordered Bangalore Club to close its canteen and refreshment stall ‘Flavour’ inside the campus.
The action follows a presser by Kachara-kanahalli corporator, Padmanabha Reddy, a week ago alleging irregularities inside the Club.
According to BBMP sources, health department officials sought details about trade licence and other permissions for operating ‘Flavour’. When the Club authorities failed to produce any document, Palike officials ordered the closure of the two facilities.
In the afternoon, another group of officials from the BBMP East Zone came to the Club and demanded ownership documents.
The Club authorities told Palike officials that the president was abroad and he alone can produce the documents.
Officials then handed over the notice asking the Club authorities for documents once the president returned.
