Some of the services offered by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) were temporarily affected on Thursday after a large number of employees did not report to work for half a day. The BBMP Officers and Employees Welfare Association claimed that all 198 offices were closed till 1 pm on Thursday to mark their support to the protest.

Amrut Raj, president of the association, said the protest was withdrawn later in the day after BBMP's Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath intervened and promised to address their demands. "The employees and the officers reported to work by afternoon," he said.

Some of the demands raised by the association include: reinstating six revenue officers who were suspended following controversy involving NGO Chilume Trust, health card for lower-run employees, filling up of vacant posts etc.
