Following a report that appeared in the Deccan Herald, the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), has decided to lodge a complaint against those who want to convert the Subramanyapura Lake into a landfill site.

On the issue, Manjappa, a BDA superintending engineer, noted that the Subramanyapura Lake was not the only victim of illegal dumping but that there were many more lakes in the City that suffered the same plight. “To tackle the illegality, we will lodge complaints against the offenders with the local police,” he said.

A BDA team comprising engineers will visit the lake Friday to assess the damage caused by illegal dumping of waste, he said.
