The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) on Wednesday said it had removed encroachments from two acres of land belonging to it near the Outer Ring Road in Nagarabhavi, West Bengaluru.

Acting on court orders, officials brought down makeshift sheds, garages and compound walls that had come up on the BDA land in survey number 30, according to the agency. The value of the encroached property is estimated
at Rs 80 crore.

BDA Chairperson S R Vishwanath said the drive was “just the beginning of a long-overdue process of acquiring BDA properties that have been encroached upon in various parts of the city”.
