Bengalureans to paint the Bangalore Fort red tonight!

Bengaluru's forsaken heritage structure, the KOTE or the Bangalore Fort, where the city's formation took place, is going to be painted red tonight.

Around 300 Bengalureans will be assembling near the entrance of the fort tonight at 11 pm to paint the boundaries of the heritage fort red.

The event titled 'Let’s paint the KOTE red!' is being organized by the bangaloREsidency of Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan in cooperation with MOD-Institute and Suchitra Film Society. It's being supported by B.PAC.

Inviting the Bengalureans for the event, the orgainsers have posted a message on Facebook.

In the message, the organisers have requested the volunteers to sport red outfits and to carry a torch, flashlight or a candle.

Volunteers can also carry some red paint and a red rope if they wish to.

Two German filmmakers namely, Miriam Jakobs and Gerhard Schick will be heading the event.

Filmmaker Prakash Belawadi and many other actors and artists will also be seen participating in the event.

The Bangalore Fort was built by Kempe Gowda I in 1537 as a mud fort. Later, in 1761 Haider Ali replaced the mud fort with a stone fort.
