Bengaluru Police have once again been lauded for their swift action as they recovered stolen Apple AirPods within 20 minutes of a complaint being filed.
The woman who had filed the complaint alleged that two men had arrived at her house to fix furniture and one of them stole the AirPods.
Stating that she doubtful of approaching the police, she later thanked the Madiwala Police Station and shared her ordeal on social media.
In a post on X she wrote, "My Air pods Pro got stolen from my own house. Thanks to Vijay Kumar and Narsimhamurthy from Madiwala Police Station @BlrCityPolice @DCPSEBCP for helping me to get the valuable within 20 minutes."
She said, "I was skeptical to visit police station and lost hope of getting it back but thankfully I visited and got back my valuable."
She further asserted that she had rented out furniture at a rental platform named Rentomojo and that she had received her delivery on December 1 (Sunday) at around 11:30 am.
The complainant said that two men had arrived at her house for the delivery and installation of the furniture and one of them stole her Apple Airpods Pro from her bedroom.
She claimed that Rentomojo upon receiving her complaint asked her for evidence like CCTV footage, sarcastically commenting that no one installs cameras in their bedrooms.
The woman added that she visited the Madiwala Police Station, filed a complaint and urged the rental platform to be vary of who they hire.
In the X thread, she explained saying, "Stolen story: I rented out furniture from @rentomojo and I got my delivery done on Sunday (December 1st, 11:30am). Two people came for delivery and installation and one of them took it."
"I complaint to Rentomojo but they were asking me about cctv proof (nobody installs cctv inside their bedroom). I visited Madiwala Police station, and they helped me to catch the thief. @rentomojo please be careful of who you hire."
Rentomojo replied to her X post asking her to share her order ID to check out the inconvenience caused to her.
It wrote, "Hi Tiya,Thank you for highlighting your concern and we regret the inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. We request you to please share your order ID or request ID details with us, We will check and connect with you at the earliest to assist. BG."
The woman's post has received over 9K views and a flurry of comments.
A user wrote, "Rentomojo. First and last time I will hear of this business. And kudos to madiwala cops for pursuing the matter without dismissing it as petty crime."
Another, taking a jibe at her, wrote, "Behen, @rentomojo ko toh suna diya. Few words for your carelessness also pls. Some regret? Some remorse? Some lesson learnt for carelessness? Some personal responsibility?"
