"Many districts in interior Karnataka received less rain than expected. However, Bengaluru is likely to see heavy rainfall from mid-August,” said Dr N Puviarasan, Scientist at IMD Bengaluru.

Until August 12, the city will see cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and winds of 40–50 kmph. Heavy rainfall is expected thereafter.

Current weather patterns are influenced by a low-pressure area over northwest Madhya Pradesh and a monsoon trough extending from Sri Ganganagar to Delhi.

Bengaluru received 86.4 mm of rainfall in July, against the normal average of 116.4 mm.

Temperatures are expected to range between 27°C (maximum) and 19°C (minimum).
