Bengaluru: Police in southern Bengaluru on Sunday arrested two men for murdering a 35-year-old mother of four and dumping her body in a stationary autorickshaw.
The suspects have been identified as Subramani, 32, and Senthil, 28, both residents of KHB Colony. They worked as daily wage labourers, taking up painting and autorickshaw driving jobs.
Police said the men were in a relationship with the deceased woman, who had met them after her husband’s death a year ago. She lived with her four children in BTB Colony and worked in homes to make ends meet.
On Saturday, the three were drinking together near the spot where the body was later found.
Investigations revealed that Subramani and Senthil suspected the woman of being involved with another man. During an argument, they attacked her and struck her on the head with a blunt object, killing her on the spot.
"They are of the sort who do not need a reason to kill," a police officer told DH, describing the suspects.
After realising she was dead, the duo wrapped the body in a cloth and placed it inside an auto parked near the Tilak Nagar police station. The vehicle had been awaiting a buyer.
A passerby noticed the body and informed the woman’s mother, Parveen Taj, who then alerted the police.
