Police said that Amir Hussain, 33, and Montaj Ali Molla, 28, both from Sonpur, West Bengal, who were working at the DNR Arista construction site, fell to their death from the 13th floor of the building at around 3.30 pm. The slab broke suddenly, leading to their fall, police said.

The Bellandur police have booked Imperial Build Tech Pvt Ltd, the contractor on behalf of DNR Arista, and the concerned officials and site engineers under Section 106 (Causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). It is further alleged that the workers weren’t provided any safety gears such as belts, helmets and jackets, an official said. "Six suspects have been secured and are being questioned," said K Parashurama, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Whitefield).

Confirming the incident, Bengaluru police commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh, said that legal action is being initiated. “Some other workers had created a ruckus at the spot due to some delay in retrieving the body of the deceased. They have also been picked up for investigation,” Singh said.
