BIAF promises dance, yoga and more

The Bengaluru International Arts Festival (BIAF) is marking its 11th year with a ‘Celebration of Harmony through Arts’.

To be held on September 22, 23, 30 and October 5, 6 and 7, the BIAF 2018 boasts an impressive line-up of events.

The first day of the festival on September 22 (at Allama Kalashale, situated at Kannali, Kodigehalli Panchayat, Magadi Road, NICE Road Junction) will feature Panthi folk dance of Chhattisgarh, Sri Lankan folk dance by Rangisara Dancing Academy, garbha and dandiya by the students of Dr Veena Murthy Vijay of Samanvaya Dance Company, and Ardhanareeshwara – kuchipudi by Dr Ardhanareeshwara Venkat.

On the following day, a yoga session will be held at Smriti Nandan Cultural Centre, Palace Road, Vasanth Nagar.

‘The Art of Awareness’ is a 60-minute class with Namrata Sudhindra (Nikaya Yoga) aimed at increasing mind-body breath and spatial awareness with live music.

Entry is free for all the programmes.
