Police have arrested a 45-year-old man, who is apparently crazy about motorcycles. For fun, he steals motorbikes, rides till the fuel gets over, and leaves them on the roadside.

The accused, Suresh alias Suri, is a native of Bannur in Mysuru. After his arrest, police seized 10 two-wheelers from him. He was produced before the magistrate and remanded to judicial custody.

Police said that Suresh had left his family and came to the city two years ago and was staying at his friend’s house in Vijayanagar. After his friend left the city, he was unable to pay the rent, so he left the house and took shelter at bus and railway stations.

After carefully observing motorcycle owners who carelessly leave the keys unattended while parking, Suresh used to steal the bikes and roam around the city till the fuel got over. He would then leave the vehicle on the roadside and return to the bus or railway station.

On December 7, around 10.30 am, one Mahesh, had left his scooter and forgot the keys at Sampige Road. Suresh stole the bike and left the spot. Malleswaram police, who registered a case, arrested Suresh based on CCTV camera footage installed at a shop nearby.
