The BJP and JD(S) have criticised Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s decision to reinduct K J George into the state cabinet. JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy on Saturday said that Siddaramaiah was more keen on George’s reinduction than addressing the Cauvery issue.

“The chief minister visited New Delhi recently, not because he wanted to find a solution to the Cauvery issue, but to obtain a green signal from his party leadership to re-induct George” he said. He told reporters that little could be expected from the police, who were asked to probe their own officers and the former home minister.

In a statement, BJP spokesman S Suresh Kumar said George’s reinduction would establish that the CID enquiry into the Ganapathi case was just an eyewash.
