'Recipro’, a festival of food and culture, was held at St Claret College recently. This was the fifth edition of the annual event and the chief guest for this occasion was Jennifer Antony, a film actress and painter.

Different cultures and cuisines were showcased on campus as part of the fest, which was also a fundraiser for charity.

The formal inaugural function was followed by the songs and dances of the various states of India. The entire college was divided into states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, North and North-East and there were a number of teams representing some other countries as well.

Students belonging to various teams showcased the rich and varied heritage of their respective states and culture. An ethnic fashion show was held wherein each team displayed their different dresses and ethnicities.

The North and North-East team took away the rolling trophy for the best dance while the Karnataka team won the rolling trophy for the best ethnic fashion show.

The proceeds of the event, which included money collected through the sale of booklets and food coupons, went towards the education of children at Sumanahalli and Senhajyothi Centre for visually challenged, Athani.

The faculty and students who sold the maximum number of booklets were awarded by the dignitaries. A lucky draw was also held as part of the event and was a fun-filled affair.
