Bengaluru has been selected and invited to join the 100 Resilient Cities Network by The Rockefeller Foundation that operates in the US and beyond.
The 100 Resilient Cities, pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation, on Friday announced that 35 cities had been invited to join the network. Chennai is the other Indian city that has been invited.
Michael Berkowitz, president of 100 Resilient Cities, said: “We selected Bengaluru because of its leaders’ commitment to resilience building and the innovative and proactive way they have been thinking about the challenges the city faces. For us, a resilient city has good emergency response and meets its citizens’ needs.”
100RC supplies its member cities with tools, funding, technical expertise, and other resources to build resilience to the challenges of the 21st century.
HSR Layout corporator Latha Narasimhamurthy said, “We are happy that Bengaluru is part of the network.”
