A BMTC bus driver was beaten up by a mob after he lost control of the bus and hit a car near the Mohan Theatre in Kamakshipalya on Wednesday.

The driver, Sudharshan Gowda (31), has been admitted to a hospital, the police said.

According to a senior police officer, Gowda was driving on the Majestic-Ignehalli route. When he was moving towards Ignehalli, near the theatre, he lost control of the bus due to brake failure and hit the car. People started assaulting him with wooden sticks and did not listen to his pleas.
