The BMTC on Friday said that it will pay 25% of the dearness allowance arrears to its employees in June and the balance amount will be cleared in instalments.

The BMTC has not paid 12.5% dearness allowance to its employees for nine months - from January  to September 2016. The employees had recently staged a protest demanding payment of arrears. Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, who met the representatives of the State Transport Workers’  Federation, assured them of fulfilling the remaining demands soon.

In a circular issued on Friday,  BMTC said that the remaining 75% of the arrears will be paid in six instalments.
CITU president H D Revappa said  BMTC still owed the employees the bonus for 2015 and 2016. “Besides, BMTC is yet to add the 3% bonus in our salary though the three other state road transport corporations have done that already,” he said.
