Thirteen victims of bonded labour and trafficking including five children were rescued from a cow shelter (gaushala) in Mahadevapura on November 9.
The rescue was carried out by the Bengaluru Urban District Administration and the local police assisted by an NGO International Justice Mission.
Nine victims worked as bonded labourers while four were their children, aged between one and 12, who were also confined to the cow shelter. The victims belonging to three families were working in the gaushala for a duration varying from seven months to one year.
