While beginning a drive to address water woes in the city, Mayor decided to start the digging of borewell in Madiwala ward which is represented by the most vocal Congress corporator Manjunath Reddy. Reddy along with the BTM Layout Congress MLA Ramalinga Reddy had accused Mayor for being selective while carrying out developmental work, only to benefit wards, which are represented by BJP corporators.

On Sunday bore-wells were dug up at eight places in the city and the water supply through water tankers was increased. During a meeting with the officials of the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), Mayor had set a deadline to minimize water woes by Monday evening. It was then decided that more number of bore-wells will be dug up in the city and new water tankers would be bought to supply potable water to the residents.

On Saturday, BWSSB officials appraised the Mayor about the steps initiated to resolve the water crisis in highly problematic areas. They told him that they have deviced a mechanism for an equitable distribution of water.

A team of 18 officials has been constituted and the 198 wards has been divided among them. The officials will be responsible for ensuring water supply in their area. The BWSSB will dig up new borewells in the areas facing acute water crisis. Cauvery water supply in the areas would be strengthened where already Cauvery has reached.

Presently the BWSSB has 76 tankers. The BWSSB chair person P B Ramamurthy informed Mayor that the process to buy 38 new tankers would be initiated on Monday.  The BWSSB officials expected that the water problem may come down significantly by Tuesday with the measures taken by them.
