Heavy rain returned to lash the city on Tuesday causing traffic snarls on roads flooded with rainwater.

Downpour was reported from RT Nagar, Rajajinagar, Malleswaram, Sahakar Nagar Vijay Nagar, Gayatri Nagar, Yeshwanthpur, KR Market, Basavanagudi, Hanumantha Nagar, Yelahanka, Hebbal, Vidyaranyapura, Jalahalli, Peenya, Kengeri, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bellandur, Marathahalli, Whitefield and surrounding areas.

The water inundated Mahadevapura, Shivananda Circle Underpass and in Sirsi Circle Flyover. Vehicle movement was stopped temporarily on the Mahadevapura underpass from 3 pm to 4 pm.

Waterlogging was reported on Brigade Road. The traffic police along with the BBMP officials cleared a tree that leaned dangerously near a petrol bunk on the stretch.

A heavy traffic jam was reported from Majestic, Whitefield, Bellandur, Malleswaram, Tumakuru Road and Mysuru Road.

According to the India Meteorological Department, Dasarahalli reported highest rainfall, recording 22.55 cm, areas near to Mysuru Road, Rajarajeshwari Nagar had rainfall of 20cm; Kengeri recorded 14 cm of rainfall.

HAL airport recorded 7.5cm of rainfall.
