Amjad Khan, 35, and Akbar Khan, 24, residents of Goripalya in western Bengaluru, intended to visit a durgah along with their family as part of a vow to tonsure one of their sons. Before offering prayers, the brothers decided to take a dip in the water when they were washed away.

Akbar was the first to get into the water, but he slipped and was washed away. Amjad jumped into the water to save his sibling, only to be washed away too.
