Ashok Nagar police took former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa along with BJP MP Ananth Kumar into preventive custody for leading hundreds of protesters in a procession.

They held a rally at the Mysore Bank and headed towards Vidhana Soudha. The police took them into preventive custody near Hotel Atria. 

Addressing protesters, Yeddyurappa came down heavily on the UPA for increasing prices of essential commodities and diesel.

“The Central government has set a limit of six cylinders per year besides increasing the diesel price. It should immediately withdraw its decisions,” he said. MP P C Mohan, legislators Tara, Ramachandre Gowda and Hemachandra Sagar were taken into preventive custody, among others.
