A cab driver received a phone call from an international number, asking him to plant a bomb in a church.

The Ashoknagar police stumbled on the case following the Sri Lankan blasts. Lingaraju (25), from Ashoknagar, filed a police complaint, saying he received the calls at 11.37 am on Thursday when he was near Garuda Mall. The calls came from 9632308252, +651-3762512 and 9384986184. The caller hung up immediately. After 11.45 am, he received one more call from +81590091286.

Speaking Hindi, the caller asked him to send his bank account details to transfer money and tell him which church he was to bomb. A panicked Lingaraju disconnected the call. Police said Lingaraju could not understand the caller clearly as he spoke a mixture of Hindi and Urdu in a strange dialect. Though doubting the veracity of the complaint, they are investigating it in the wake of the Lanka blasts.
