Caller warns police about 'attack' on JD(S) MLA

An unidentified person dialled Kamakshipalya police station on February 25 and claimed that a few persons were planning to assault K Gopalaiah, a JD(S) MLA.

A senior police officer said, “around 11 pm, a person called up the police station and claimed that he overheard a group of people talking about assaulting Gopalaiah, MLA from Mahalakshmi Layout. When the staff asked him about his details, he disconnected the call. It is learnt that the person had called from a coin box telephone.”

“Gopalaiah was informed about the call and security measures were taken. A point book was placed at the MLA’s house and the patrolling police have been directed to keep a watch. Even Gopalaiah was asked to provide information if he received similar calls. The number is being tracked and efforts are on to trace the caller,” added the officer. A case has been registered at Kamakshipalya police station.
