A day after Vijayanagar MLA M Krishnappa’s supporters staged protest affecting normal life in Vijayanagar and surrounding areas, the city police registered three separate cases in connection with the incident.
The police did not specify anyone’s name in the three cases and mentioned the suspects as Krishnappa’s supporters.
“ The BMRCL officials did not lodge any complaint. The supporters had not taken prior permission from the police for the protest. The protesters vandalised the Vijayanagar metro station. Hence, the police took suo motu notice of the incident and registered separate cases,” City Police Commissioner N S Megharik told Deccan Herald. Additional forces have been deployed in Vijayanagar and Byatarayanapura.
