BBMP Special Commissioner for Solid Waste Management Subodh Yadav on Sunday said a team of officers from the Union government will be visiting the City to assess sanitation and healthcare conditions among others as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan survey.

The team will visit slums and other areas at the zonal level to evaluate quality of sanitation, healthcare, hygiene and waste management. The survey will begin from January 5 and go on till January 20, Yadhav told Deccan Herald.

“We have sent documents to the Union government about waste management and other details undertaken by the Palike in the past. The team will visit on January 5, 6 and 7. We are ready to extend all help and support in this regard. Public opinion would also be taken into consideration  and residents can call the toll free number 1800 267 2777 to give us feedback,” Yadav said.

‘Swachh Sarvekshan’, a cleanliness survey, to be carried out across 75 major cities, is commissioned by the Ministry of Urban Development and conducted by the Quality Council of India.
