CET counselling for engineering begins today

The Authority said candidates with engineering rank numbers 1-1,600 will be allowed for selection of seats in the order of merit as per the schedule given in the notification dated July 9.

While counselling for ranks one to 500 is scheduled for the forenoon session one (between 8.45 am to 11.15 am), rank holders from 501 to 900 can appear during the forenoon session two (11.30 am to 2 pm). Counselling for ranks 901 to 1,300 and 1,301 to 1,600 are scheduled for the afternoon session one (2.15 pm to 4.45 pm) and two (5.00 pm onwards), respectively. All candidates are directed to report at the respective venues an hour before their session.

Further, similar procedure is to be followed on day two for ranks 1,601 to 3,200, the Authority added.

Day two

The day two of the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (Comed-K) counselling was held on Tuesday with 192 dental seats allotted to students, out of the 730 that were scheduled.

The authorities said that the casual and final rounds for medical seats (MBBS) will be held on July 27. Of the 65 odd remaining MBBS seats on day two, seats reserved for the Tulu minorities have seven more left along with 53 general category seats.

Marshlin Joseph, who secured the 2,144th rank and was placed at R V Dental College, Bangalore, said: “I’m happy with the way things are conducted here and I’m also excited.” Expressing similar sentiments were Gershia (5,600 rank) placed at Fr Mueller’s Medical College, Mangalore and Harshitha Takur from Delhi who secured 7,000 rank.
