Chain snatchers active again

An aged woman was robbed of her 17-gram gold chain worth Rs 30,000 by two miscreants near her residence at Sreenidhi Layout at 8.45 pm on Sunday. Chandra (65) was waiting at the bus stop when the incident occurred.

In the second incident, Manavi Sharma, a software engineer, lost valuables worth Rs 45,000 when a bike rider snatched her vanity bag in Koramangala on Monday night.
She was returning home along with her husband after shopping when the accused first overtook them and grabbed the bag after taking a u-turn.

The bag contained a 15-gram gold chain, a diamond ring, a seven-gram gold ring, Rs 1,000 cash and a passport.
In another incident, Nagajyothi (50) of Kaikondanahalli lost her gold valuables worth Rs 40,000 when two men impersonating themselves as policemen hoodwinked her when she was going to buy vegetables on Tuesday morning.

They told her that it was unsafe for her to venture out wearing gold ornaments.
When she was hesitating, another man of their gang, pretending to be a passerby, feinted to gave the ornaments to the ‘cops’ for safe keeping. Nagajyothi also removed her gold bangles, wrapped it in a piece of paper and gave it to the ‘cops.’ On returning, she found fake gold items wrapped in a piece of paper. 

A similar incident was reported on Konena Agrahara Main Road on Tuesday morning where two miscreants, impersonating as CID policemen cautioned an aged woman against wearing the gold ornaments. They told her to keep them in the vanity bag after safely wrapping it in a piece of paper. She handed over her four gold bangles and two chains, weighing 100 gm, to them for safe keeping. Diverting her attention, they wrapped fake ornaments and stones in her bag and fled the scene.

Killed in mishap

A pillion rider was killed on the spot when a BMTC bus knocked down a two-wheeler on Tannery Road in KG Halli police limits.
The accident occurred when Parvathi (40) of Nagawara was going on the two-wheeler with her daughter Yamini to meet her another daughter at Jain College. The police have arrested bus driver Srishail.
