The Special Court for Economic Offences has awarded simple imprisonment till rising of the court and slapped a fine of Rs 43,000 to R Jyothi of Srinidhi Medicals located at Chinnappahalli Layout in Marathahalli.
The complaint was filed by the drugs inspector of State Intelligence branch for stocking and selling huge quantity of habit-forming drugs without prescription by registered medical practitioner, without issuing sale bill and not producing the records, registers and other documents related to purchase and sale of habit-forming drugs.
Provisions contravened
Further, the Licensing Authority and Assistant Drugs Controller has cancelled the licence of Srinidhi Medicals as it was found to have contravened various provisions of Rule 65 of Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945, according to a release issued by the Drugs Control
Department.
