Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday directed the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to take serious note of the roads badly damaged due to rains.

"Potholed roads are causing traffic nuisance. Hence, the BBMP should deploy Python-5000, an imported machine to fill up such potholes as early as possible”, he said while reviewing the flood situation in the city at a meeting held at his home office ‘Krishna’. Siddaramaiah pointed out that roads were in bad condition due to poor work carried out by contractors.

Co-ordination meeting
At the meeting, Siddaramaih directed state government agencies such as BBMP, Bangalore Development Authority, Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd, Forest and Police departments to hold a coordination meeting every Saturday. The meeting should be chaired by chief secretary, he noted.

Responding to the complaint that Forest department was blocking de-silting work in the periphery of the Madiwala lake, he instructed the Forest department officials to work in coordination with other government agencies especially in the times of crisis.

Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, Public Works Minister H C Mahadevappa, Sarvagananagar MLA and former Bengaluru Development minister K J George were among those who attended the meeting.
