The state health department has screened 756 labourers working at a construction site belonging to Sobha Developers in Varthur, and found that most of them have recovered from a bout of diarrhea.
This comes after two labourers died of cholera at the Sobha Dream Acres site on Saturday. The deaths were caused by cholera, St John's Hospital had confirmed.
Dr B K Krishnappa, medical officer, Varthur Primary Health Centre, said that they are continuously monitoring the outbreak of diarrhea.
However, the health department has not been able to confirm the presence of cholera at the site, despite taking help from a private hospital in the vicinity, as they failed to get samples.
Dr Krishnappa said they have received reports from St John's Hospital, which confirmed seven cases of cholera, of which two people succumbed to the infection.
Among those undergoing treatment, labourer Kanhaiya Das, who was admitted to St Philomena's Hospital, is said to be stable.
