The bundh is unlikely to inconvenience commuters as public transport services, including autorickshaws, will ply as usual. If violence breaks out, it could mar the situation.
The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation will do business as usual. Services may be suspended in case of violence. The Metro too will operate its services on the 6.7-km Baiyappanahalli-MG Road stretch. Autorickshaw unions have said that they would not participate in the bundh. Many banks, insurance companies and public sector undertakings are understood to have issued a circular warning employees that “no work, no pay rule” would be invoked.
Schools/colleges
Schools and colleges have been told by the Department of Education to take an independent call on keeping their institutions open. However, exams scheduled for Thursday have been rescheduled to a later date.
